What type of generator is necessary to power the sondes supplied by Ritelite?
The sonde is battery powered therefore does need any external power to operate. To locate a Sonde within a duct / pipe a Cable Avoidance Tool is required.
What type of detector is necessary to locate a sonde?

Any Cable Avoidance Tool with a 33Hz standard frequency can be used to locate the majority of the sondes that Ritelite supply. A few more specialist options are also available please view our full range of sondes.

Is it possible for the 4.5mm diameter, to get through a 90-degree angle?
It is not possible for any rod to go through a very tight angled duct or pipe however it is possible for duct rod to move around bends especially if on a sweeping curve. This may be different on every application.
With which Signal Generators are the Flexitrace systems’ compatible?
The Ritelite Flexitrace Traceable Rodding Systems are compatible with almost any 33HZ signal generator and any Cable Avoidance Tool.
What length cobra do I need?
If you are rodding a 100M run you will need additional length to allow for rod required above ground. We suggest adding a minimum 10% length to cover this for any job.
How do I know what size pipe / duct I can use my Ritelite Cobra Rodding system with?
It is important that the right diameter rod is used for the pipe / duct you are working in. If you use too small a rod in a big duct / pipe the rod can coil / snake on the inside which will not allow it to move through the duct. If you use too big a rod in too small a duct the rod will not bend sufficiently to allow it to move through the duct. We have therefore given the optimum pipe / duct diameters on the technical details for all of our rodding systems to help make sure that you have the right diameter rod for your job.
